Summary
The cook at Growing Green oversees regulating the food temperature until food is served. Cook will portion out the food to each room based on the serving sizes required by CACFP. The cook will be responsible for serving of AM/PM snack and lunch.We contract with a catering service for hot lunches, so very minimal cooking is needed. Will also be responsible for dishes and sanitation of the kitchen. Daily upkeep of the kitchen is expected. The normal hours are 8:30 - 1:30 Monday - Friday, so this is a perfect part-time job for a stay at home parent or retiree looking to earn some extra income with no nights, weekends or holidays! Some food handling experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
Duties
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all the responsibilities listed here plus the following:

Prepare, serve and clean-up for morning snack and lunch. Prepare afternoon snack to be distributed.

Ensure food quality.

Review the nutrition and food service guidelines

Maintain clean and well organized food storage, preparation and service areas.

Inventory, order, receive and appropriately store food items and supplies.

4 hours of continuing education will need to be completed each year.
Requirements

Housekeeping experience; good working knowledge of basic housekeeping tools, materials and practices

Experienced cook, basic knowledge of good nutrition, USDA guidelines

Exercise preparing and serving nutritious snacks and lunch.

High standards of personal cleanliness

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
