RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Phoenix, AZ that is seeking an Electromechanical Sustaining Engineer responsible for a combination of electrical and mechanical sustaining engineering projects. These projects will mostly be product design related for cost reductions, VA/VE initiatives, continuous improvement and/or minor design changes. These projects could also be production equipment related for continuous improvement, efficiency and/or automation. This position requires close collaboration with mechanical/electrical engineers, and manufacturing to develop solutions with an emphasis on Design for Manufacturability and Assembly.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical and mechanical engineering design for Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives, cost reductions, alternate component approvals, continuous improvement and minor design changes for all products
- Design and/or troubleshoot manufacturing automation equipment
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science from a four-year college or university in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 7 to 10 years of electrical engineering design experience
- 3 to 5 years of mechanical engineering experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in project management
- Experience designing and/or troubleshooting manufacturing automation equipment
- Skilled in analog/digital circuit design and analysis
- Knowledge of low-power real-time embedded system design (MSP430, PIC a plus)
- Knowledge of digital communication hardware and protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, IrDA, USB, WiFi, RFID, TCP/IP)
- Experience applying best in class mechanical engineering design principles with proven track record of designing electromechanical products within a cross-functional team
- Experience with 3D printing
- Knowledge and ability to write test reports based on conducted testing
- Experience applying best in class Design for Manufacturability and Assembly techniques; Proven track record of taking mid volume (10K to 100K EAU) designs through manufacturing
- Strong electrical and mechanical design troubleshooting/problem solving skills
- Experience applying project management techniques toward on-time project completion
- Ability to travel internationally
- Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment a plus
- Experience designing and/or troubleshooting manufacturing automation equipment a plus
- Experience in PCB design using Altium. Flex PCB design experience a plus
- Experience utilizing SolidWorks software for mechanical design, CSWP a strong plus
- Knowledge of rechargeable battery technologies and power supply design a strong plus
- RF circuit design experience a strong plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
