Comprehensive Autism Related Education (CARE), Inc. is looking for an Early Intervention Specialist (EIS) who is responsible for coordinating and implementing services to children (aged 0-3-years-old) with suspected and diagnosed disabilities and their families related to CARE’s Building Up Infant Learning and Development (BUILD) program. The EIS provides appropriate treatment, education, and/or consultation with families, care providers, and community partners about treatment options.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide and implement early intervention program at client’s home/community/school or via telehealth
- Collect, record, and summarize data on target behaviors via electronic portal
- Maintain/update client programs based on assessment and progress
- Monitor client’s program and progress
- Maintain consistent communication with direct supervisor regarding program
- Attend and participate in CARE team meetings
- Encourage a continuous exchange of ideas and maintain positive relationships with family service advocates, staff, regional center, external early intervention(s), and mental health providers
- Develop strategies that connect all activities with the goal of improving client outcomes
- Write progress and transition reports, as well as any addendums for additional potential services
- Demonstrate content area mastery in child development, 0-3-years of age
- Passion for connecting with infants & toddlers and their families in support of client’s developmental success
- Extraordinary oral skills to effectively communicate with varied audiences
- Comfort with and ability to write efficiently and effectively as part of a culture where curriculum writing, email communication, and documentation are critical
- Superior analytical skills and sound judgment to make critical decisions autonomously
- Capable of thriving in circumstances involving ambiguity and nuance
- Meticulous organizational ability in order to set priorities, organize workload, handle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines
- Emotional constancy and extraordinary interpersonal skills to ensure purposeful and professional colleague relationships

- Maintain schedule and render sessions daily
- Support parental involvement and participation during sessions
- Follow the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Write and turn in concise, grammatically correct, and clear professional notes and documentation timely within an established electronic system
- Be able to meet all assigned work hours on a consistent basis and establish make-up hours
- Increase the performance of all clients/parent(s)/caregiver(s) to meet their target goals
- Be a team player: working within a team-based environment; maintaining consistent contact (phone/email/text) with team members; following the direction of the supervisor; consulting with team members who share cases
- Follow the policies/procedures established by CARE, Inc.
- Submit necessary work by established due dates
- Ability to use the internet, Microsoft Office software, and other technology to manage data and carry out session
- Adapt to a changing environment with the ability to respond to and manage crisis with a calm and mindful approach
- Assess and provide an evaluation of client in major areas of development (i.e., social-emotional, adaptive, fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, etc.) and provide well-written professional, grammatically correct reports (Assessment, progress, termination reports)
- Good active listening, observation, analytical, and problem recognition and solving skills
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A passion for service and CARE’s mission
- Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Child Development/human service field; MUST HAVE 12 units in Child Development
- Ability to pass background/fingerprint clearance, and provide/obtain TB clearance
- Reliable transportation, proof of valid California driver's license, safe driving record, proper auto insurance, and vehicle registration.
- Proficient skills and experience in Microsoft Office computer software systems including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Bilingual or sign language preferred
- Willingness to drive within a 12-20 mile radius
- Must have required availability of 1:30 pm-6:30 pm
