BULLDOZER / HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Must have 5+ years of experience as a heavy equipment operator doing site development work. This includes land clearing, excavating, grading, and more.
The heavy equipment operator's duties include preparing, maintaining and operating heavy equipment to ensure the appropriate execution of project criteria. You will be required to conduct your duties in a safe, diligent manner at all times.
To ensure success as a heavy equipment operator, you should monitor workflow, suggesting alterations to enhance productivity, as needed. A remarkable heavy equipment operator will be attuned to the subtleties of each situation, possessing sound knowledge of when to lead or follow.
Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities:
- Operate dozer with and without gps, excavator, skid steer, roller, motor grader, and / or loader on various jobsites located throughout Nassau County, Florida.
- Communicate with coworkers to achieve project goals as required
- Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.
- Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
- Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires. Immediately report any deficiencies to supervisor
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Observe strict adherence to safety codes and policies at all times.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Heavy Equipment Operator Requirements:
- 5 + years experience operating a variety of heavy equipment on site development work, including but not limited to bulldozer and excavator required.
- Experience doing pond work required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license
- Solid knowledge of creating finish grades
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
- Capacity to provide and follow direction.
- Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong commitment to safety
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Regular attendance is required
- Authorized to work in the United States
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
