Electrical Engineer – New Product Development – Hardware Design

The i2Systems team designs and builds advanced lighting modules concentrating on wellness, energy efficiency, and high-quality illumination of North America’s premier spaces. The Engineering team works with our Production teams in creating well-defined LED lighting systems that exceed customer expectations.
What to Expect:
i2Systems’s New Product Development team is looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to assist in the design and validation of power electronics converters and digital controls intended to be used in our next generation lighting systems. This role is ideal for less experienced engineers with a passion for electronics design and an interest in growing their design skills.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform basic electrical engineering tasks that include applying basic engineering theories and principles.
- Electrical and thermal performance validation of PCBA’s.
- Design of digital and analog electronics for power electronics converters and digital controls.
- Support all stages of development from specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing.
- Create and organize documentation related to electrical hardware designs.
- Collaborative work with other teams within our organization including Production Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Schematic capture for electronic circuits.
- Experience testing and validating PCBA’s.
- Basic knowledge of power electronics.
- Proficiency with EE tools such as oscilloscopes and power supplies.
- Embedded programming of microcontrollers a plus.
- Experience and knowledge in PCB layout (Altium) a plus.
- Experience with software/firmware development and electronics design (Visual Basic, Visual Studio, C++, etc.).

Expected Compensation:
$75,000 – $110,000 annual salary + benefits.
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
