As we expand our offerings, we are excited to launch a new soft serve line, which will include both dairy and non-dairy options, and are seeking a talented Executive Pastry Chef to join our team.
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and creative Executive Pastry Chef with extensive knowledge in ice cream to join Happy Ice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both dairy and non-dairy ice cream production, including expertise in purees, sauces, and flavor development. This role will involve working closely with the CEO to develop and perfect new ice cream and Italian ice flavors for our brand. This position is perfect for someone who is looking excited to grow with a company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and production of our new soft serve line, including both dairy and non-dairy options.
- Create monthly recipes and menus. Keep up with and create market trends.
- Network and collaborate with other chefs to create special menu items that will drive marketing and visibility for Happy Ice.
- Develop recipes and formulations for purees, sauces, and other ingredients used in ice cream production.
- Collaborate with the CEO to ensure all new products meet quality and taste standards.
- Oversee the entire ice cream production process, from ingredient sourcing to final product.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and food hygiene in the kitchen.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff in the preparation and production of ice cream and Italian ice.
- Develop strong systems and standards to ensure each dish is properly executed for each Guest.
- Ensure we are operating as efficiently as possible.
- Create and present new menu item recipes with flexibility and creativity.
- Create a positive work environment for our employees through caring and professional communication.
- Manage Key Performance Indicators and establish a career path for teammates to progress.
- Stay current with industry trends and continuously experiment with new techniques and ingredients.
- Ensure all products comply with dietary restrictions and preferences, including vegan, dairy-free, and nut-free options.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to support production.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Executive Pastry Chef or similar role, with a focus on ice cream production.
- Extensive knowledge of both dairy and non-dairy ice cream production.
- Strong understanding of purees, sauces, and flavor development.
- Creativity and passion for creating innovative and delicious frozen desserts.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work closely with the CEO and other team members to achieve company goals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred.
