The Home Health Care Biller is responsible for the timely and accurate billing and collection of services provided by our skilled care agency. This role ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and payer-specific regulations, and assists in maintaining the financial health of the agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate claims for home health care services to various payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies.
- Ensure timely submission of claims to avoid delays in reimbursement.
- Review and resolve claim denials and rejections promptly.
- Follow up on unpaid claims, investigating and correcting any discrepancies.
- Resubmit corrected claims as necessary to secure payment.
- Post payments received.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of billing activities and communications with payers.
- Ensure all billing activities comply with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation and information as requested.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation of services rendered.
- Work closely with the finance team to reconcile accounts receivable and track payments.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
