Human Resources Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist role is a non-exempt, full-time position; the weekly schedule can be between 32 and 40 hours per week to accommodate their personal needs. The person in this role is required to work on site at our administrative offices in Thornton, CO (please note, this is not a remote/telework or hybrid role). Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist supports a wide range of human resources functions, including talent acquisition, benefits administration, employee leave management, data management, and ensures compliance with employment laws and company policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manages full-cycle recruitment, including posting jobs, reviewing applications, completing phone/video screens, interviewing, scheduling, and working with managers on candidate selection.
- Coordinates new hire onboarding and termination offboarding workflows.
- Assists with benefit administration, including annual open enrollment, processing enrollments and terminations, and billing reconciliations.
- Coordinates leave of absence programs and policies with employees and maintains records.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources records, documentation, HRIS information, and files on SharePoint and ensures their confidentiality.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to the HR Manager.
- Participates in HR projects, such as HRIS module implementation, performance reviews, employee satisfaction surveys, EEO-1 reporting, etc.
- Assists with payroll functions including new employee entry, processing, answering employee questions, and fixing errors.
- Promotes a positive work environment and culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree.
- At least 2 years of HR generalist work experience with exposure to all HR functions and tasks.
- HRCI and/or SHRM HR certification strongly preferred.
- Experience with full-cycle recruiting.
- Proficiency in federal and Colorado state employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent professional interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to successfully prioritize tasks and pay attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn a human resource information system (HRIS) and similar computer applications. Experience using Paylocity is a plus.
- Anticipates issues proactively and follows through on resolutions.
- Displays a passion to learn and maintain knowledge of industry developments through professional development.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
