Fleet Maintenance Manager:
As a Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will use communication and organizational skills to engage a team of diesel technicians, developing and maintaining quality standards and positive morale.
Regular duties include coordinating, scheduling, and auditing of vehicle maintenance and repairs to include preventative, mechanical and electrical repair to equipment, trucks, and trailers.
You will be involved in the hiring, training, and ongoing development of vehicle maintenance technicians to ensure that our highly skilled workforce is able to meet the company’s expectations.
Preferred candidates will have at least 3+ years of fleet vehicle maintenance experience overseeing technicians. Minimally qualified candidates will have at least 3 years of team management in an environment with strong operational metrics.

Fleet Manager Qualifications:
· Previous coursework in business administration, supply chain management, logistics and accounting provide a good foundation of industry knowledge and best practices
· As a manager, candidates should have previous relevant experience working in or with a fleet, preferably current experience within the construction industry
· 3+ years of experience in the transportation industry with demonstrated leadership capabilities
· Fleet Manager candidates should have completed early experience in a logistics internship or have entry-level roles in fleet operations
· Candidates should have an associate degree or a bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, automotive technology, or another relevant field
· Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivation and training
· Ability and desire to work in a positive, fast paced and high energy environment3-5 years fleet maintenance management experience required, or at least 3 years of team management in an environment with strong operational metrics
· Extensive experience with welding and fabricating
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· Associates or Tech School degree preferred
· Strong customer service, organizational skills, time management and multitasking abilities
· Valid Commercial Driver License required
· Ability to set and monitor a budget

- Understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Gaston management
- The associate must be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Gaston safety and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice.

Responsibilities:
· Performs preventive maintenance inspection (PMI); troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds major components on various pieces of heavy equipment including but not limited to, heavy-duty trucks and semi-tractors, grinders, excavators, skidders, bulldozers, etc.
· Diagnosis of diesel engines/transmission problems and repairs. Air brake repairs. Electrical trouble shooting. HVAC systems. Brakes, seals, bearings, trailer repairs, and any other issues pertaining to maintaining our fleet to the highest standards possible
· Performs routine maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches; changes filters and oil, and lubricates vehicles and motor driven equipment
· Maintains service logs and records of maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment
· Skill in operating tools equipment, parts and procedures utilized during the repair and servicing of vehicles and equipment
· Skill in repair of special purpose equipment, ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks
· Keeps tools, equipment, and work area clean, organized, and in good working
condition.
· Prioritize and assign work to meet company and customers’ needs
· Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of Gaston’s assets
· Control repair, inventory, and labor costs
· Coach and mentor technicians
· Monitor associate work levels
· Facility management, assuring a clean and safe working environment
· This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others
