We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to diagnose and treat sleep related conditions and participate in clinical research studies. As an advanced practice registered nurse, you’ll be working under the supervision of a Sleep Specialist for ensuring the best patient care possible. The job description of a Nurse Practitioner includes conducting history and physicals of new and existing patients, interpreting lab tests and overseeing patients’ health. You’ll be both a health practitioner and an educator. You should have experience in one of the following Nurse Practitioner specialties: acute care, adult and geriatrics, internal medicine, cardiology, or family health. As a Nurse Practitioner, you’ll have to work closely with other office staff and patients who are very motivated about their health, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Responsibilities
- Examine patients and review their medical records
- Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, sleep studies, etc.)
- Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
- Propose treatments for sleep conditions within clinical guidelines.
- Prescribe medications
- Maintain accurate records
- Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications and durable medical equipment
- Promote good sleep health practices
- Advance professional knowledge and conduct research as a sub investigator in various clinical research studies.
Skills
- Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner in a clinic or other setting
- Expertise in primary care, acute care and chronic care practices
- Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong ethics
- Team spirit with a positive attitude
- Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
- Valid nurse practitioner license
- Sleep specialty experience is a plus
