RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and oversees all social events for one of the leading Manufactured Home Communities in the State of Florida.
- This hand-selected individual will report to the General Manager & Property Manager.
- The Lifestyle Director provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of Murex Housing. He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Murex Housing as it relates to this function. This includes working interdepartmentally, as well as, with our residents.
JOB DUTIES
- Plan, coordinate and implement all community-funded events, including but not limited to, budgeting for the activity, ticket sales, scheduling building use, facilitating preparations (Set-up, execution, and break down), and procurement of all supplies needed for the activities.
- Collaborate with all social clubs regarding the scheduling of events in the community. Maintain social calendar
- Attend all events that are funded and supported by the Community
- Attend other shows and events as needed
- Meet and work with talent, vendors, and travel agents and attend local showcases to preview events for possible presentation to the community
- Select events, shows, and classes for the year
- Publish social calendar & monthly newsletter for distribution both electronically and in hard copies
- Negotiates necessary contracts relating to the presentation of shows, workshops, classes, and other forms of entertainment
- Create printed information for distribution, including performer bios, show synopses or itineraries for events, and posters and flyers advertising events and classes
- Maintain complete and current files for all events, including copies of all event-related items, i.e., performer bios and show synopses; contracts; flyers; tickets; ticket sale-related information; itineraries; critiques, recommendations, etc.
- Maintain accurate financial records relating to all events, including submitting check and petty cash requests for event expenditures, balancing checks with ticket sales, completing deposit slips and making deposits, and tallying total costs and sales for submitting sales
- Serve as a management representative to all social committees as well as act as a liaison for the restaurant operator
- Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing duties
- Prepares a yearly budget for Lifestyle activities and works within guidelines. Responsible for accurate accountability of all activity funds
- Available to residents to answer questions, for the consideration of new ideas and to respond to social activity needs
- Proactively develop and propose solutions to problems and anticipate the needs of residents
- Interact with local organizations to network and promote the community
- Assist the General Manager with special projects & assignments on an as-needed basis
- Other clerical duties on an ad hoc basis

QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Intermediate command of computer hardware/software is required; specifically, knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.; Work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods
- Handle, grasp, and lift objects and packages; extensive use of fingers for typing and visual use of the computer monitors
- Highly organized and understands time management principals
- Able to work & contribute to a team-based collaborative working environment
- Able to multi-task and prioritize
- Must be comfortable speaking in front of a crowd
- Logistical way of thinking
- Problem Solving/Analysis
- Knowledge of CANVA a plus
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalency required, associate’s degree in business or hospitality preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
