Assistant Preschool Director position is responsible for the daily planning, management and supervision of 10-20 staff, and 100+ children.
- The Assistant Preschool Director is also responsible for communicating with parents as needed.
- The position requires excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- An understanding and experience with Arizona daycare licensing requirements is a must.
- Experience with AZDHS,DES and CACFP Preferred.
- This person will manage the following staff
Education & Experience
At least 21 years of age. High School Diploma and at least 60 hours of state required trainings , provided in conferences, seminars, lectures, or workshops in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field, and an additional 12 hours of instruction, provided in conferences, seminars, lectures, or workshops in the area of program administration, planning, development, or management;
or At least 24 months of child care experience, a high school or high school equivalency diploma, and:. Six credit hours or more in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field from an accredited college or university; Idea candidate who has worked in a educational environment or closely related field with management experience. Prefer experience with AZDHS,DES and CACFP.
- We'd prefer someone with the following.
- BA or AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA, CCP, NAC credential & 6 months experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting
- Or: Associate's in ECE, Child Development or closely related field & 6 months experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting
- Or: Bachelor's in ECE, Child Dev. or closely related field & 3 months experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting.
- A combination of infant, toddler or preschool teaching experience.
- Strong leadership, supervisory and customer service skills and ability to create/maintain partnerships with families and staff.
- Ability to lead staff in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks or crisis situations effectively.
- Capacity to understand and manage center financial duties.
- Computer literacy.
- Experience working in an inclusive work environment and managing across differences.
- Must meet state educational and licensing requirements for director; additional center/school requirements may apply.
- Excellent organizational & communication skills
- Willingness to work in a team environment.
- Prefer experience with AZDHS,DES and CACFP
*Competitive Compensation: $35,000 - $37,000 Annually * D.O.E.
