Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Control-Inventory Specialist to join our team. The Production Control-Inventory Specialist will be responsible for managing materials, coordinating warehouse operations, and ensuring efficient production processes. In this position you will be asked to be a part of our full range inventory control system that drives our financial costing and planning, work with vendors to assure a constant flow of bought out products to our manufacturing facilities while seeking better prices, quality, and be very connected to our Sales Department and Production Scheduling to help assure our lead times are met. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work with data, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities:
-Manage materials and inventory levels to ensure availability for production.
-Coordinate with suppliers and negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
-Utilize warehouse management system to track inventory and monitor stock levels.
-Oversee receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery.
-Writing P.O.'s for components to make our products.
-Learning and understanding our Kan Ban system of replenishment.
-Working with an inventory team that:
* Prepares and executes weekly cycle counts
* Analyzes and solves inventory variance issues
* Tracks and reports usages when requested
-Maintain accurate records of materials transactions, including purchase orders, receipts, and transfers
-Learn and help improve our processing of Sales Orders from beginning to end.
-Work with Production to produce or implement our production schedule using a rich set of in-house intranet tools.
Qualifications:
-Proven experience in materials management or production control role
-Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices
-Familiarity with data analysis techniques and tools
-Experience with ERP based software and Excel.
-Ability to work within a team structure, lead or work independently
-Excellent negotiation skills for working with suppliers
-Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to obtain certification
-Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
-Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
