As our Bookkeeper, you will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively. Tasks will include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. In addition, run accounting software programs to process business transactions, such as accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts, and weekly payroll processing for 5 employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.
- Reconcile all accounts in a timely manner.
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database.
- Ensure all payables are managed/paid accurately and on time.
- Manage all open invoices to ensure timely payment.
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas.
- Provide financial management support for customer accounts including invoicing, collections, projections, draw schedules, etc.
- Weekly payroll processing for W-2 employees and occasional subcontractors.
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Provide accounting support to the Management Team as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or relevant certification, or equivalent combination of training and at least 3 years of accounting experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Expert level of familiarity with bookkeeping and accounting procedures.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for numbers.
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.
- Data entry and word processing skills.
Compensation Structure
The compensation structure will be as follows:
- Full-time, hourly pay (non-exempt).
- Group health benefits (once eligible)
- Paid time off including holiday pay (once eligible)
Regular performance reviews and alignment meetings will be conducted to track progress and ensure alignment with position objectives.
