They should be capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while building and maintaining relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and volunteers.
Administrative Support
- Assist with scheduling meetings, managing calendars, handling correspondence, and maintaining organized files.
- Provide logistical support for events, meetings, and outreach activities.
Research and Analysis
- Conduct research on industry trends, legislative issues, consumer preferences, and media coverage.
- Compile data and prepare summaries or reports to support decision-making.
- Monitor agendas from Cities, County Board of Supervisors and relevant Regional and State authorities for issues that could impact Bay East.
Content Development
- Assist in creating and developing content for various communication channels such as press releases, articles, social media posts, and multimedia materials.
- Develop consumer-facing resources, including brochures and website content.
- Proofread, edit, and format content to ensure accuracy and clarity.
Media Monitoring
- Manage media inquiries and prepare media monitoring reports.
- Track and analyze media coverage to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
Event Coordination
- Support the planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of events.
- Assist with logistics, venue selection, vendor coordination, and attendee registration.
Community Engagement
- Help build and maintain relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and partner organizations.
- Coordinate community outreach efforts, volunteer activities, and sponsorship opportunities.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to align public affairs activities with organizational goals.
- Coordinate efforts, share resources, and communicate effectively to achieve shared objectives.
Professional Development
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends.
- Participate in training, workshops, and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance skills and knowledge.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Emphasis in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience in public affairs, media relations, communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with non-profit organizations, government agencies, or trade associations is highly desirable.
