Position: Crisis Peer Counselor
Full Time, 40 hours per week M-F
Reports To: Clinical Director
Employment Classification: Bargaining Union
Starting Salary: $21.13 hourly
Position Requirements: Must be willing to share relevant life experiences that reflect ethically and positively toward recovery. Must have a valid drivers license.
Job Duties include:
· Outlining and providing resources for an individual(s) crisis recovery path.
· Pinpoint Stressors and help to identify and practice coping skills.
· Holding the hope until the person can hold it for themselves.
· Collaborate with DCR’s and communicate with Therapists while ensuring boundaries are within Crisis Peer guidelines.
· Supporting individuals by using tools (mindfulness, emotion management, books/media, etc.) to help combat stigmas attached to mental illness.
· Ensuring full documentation of shared experiences, interventions, client presentation, and safety plans using the Care Logic system is required.
· Making sure release of Information forms are signed and updated per DBH policy as pertains to current crisis clients.
· Responding to dispatches as part of the mobile crisis response team alongside DCR.
· Supply quarterly reports to the ASO.
· Must have the ability to prioritize daily tasks.
· Structuring, supporting, and encouraging engagement in recovery.
· Continuing education through the Relias learning system and HCA .
· Must be able to share relevant life experiences that reflect ethically and positively toward recovery.

- Peer Support Specialists: 1 year (Preferred)
