Admission Communications Manager, Staff Associate

The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is to achieve an optimal annual enrollment of new first-year and transfer undergraduate students. Successful candidates will be staff members that can work with their colleagues to help meet the mission of the Office of Admissions in serving and supporting our racially and ethnically diverse campus community.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Admission, the Staff Associate will be charged with implementation of multichannel communication and outreach to prospective students and their families for the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
The Staff Associate will create, implement, and monitor communication content for each stage of the admissions funnel. They will also assist in meeting student enrollment goals of the University by being its representative at both on and off campus recruitment programs.
Supervision Received: Associate Dean of Admission
This position is located on campus in Bridgewater, MA. This position is eligible for hybrid / remote work in accordance with BSU remote work policy.
This is an exempt, APA unit position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.

Essential Duties:
1. In collaboration with the Associate Dean of Admission, the Staff Associate will strategize, design, and implement communication campaigns in the constituent relationship management (CRM) platform and the family online portal. This will include population segmentation and customizing information for effective granular communication.
2. Create and manage a cohesive stream of communication to prospective undergraduate students and their families that includes writing and design of emails, text messages, website content, video scripts, presentation talking points, PowerPoint slides, social media posts and print correspondence.
3. Edit existing print and electronic content to ensure a consistent voice, tone, and design that is in alignment with the refreshed branding and segmentation for undergraduate admissions at BSU.
4. Represent the University at various recruitment events, both on and off campus, and disseminate appropriate information about BSU in a timely fashion to prospective students, their family members, and other interested parties. Includes frequent seasonal travel as well as evening and weekend work.
5. Collaborate with the Associate Dean and campus colleagues in Marketing and Communications to proofread and provide feedback on copy and design related to admission projects.
6. Work with undergraduate admissions staff and student tour guides to standardize presentation best practices and provide documentation and training as needed.
7. Provide admission information presentations in the absence of the Associate Dean.
8. Assist the Associate Dean in conducting surveys and focus groups with incoming students and their families to determine where the University can improve communication to better recruit, convert, and orient new students.
9. Conduct ongoing assessment of admission communication plans and report results.
10. Review best practices used at other colleges and universities for enrollment communication, outreach, and marketing to propose improvements to the Associate Dean. Stay up to date on current trends and needs of various target audiences to develop impactful communication.
11. Adhere to the parameters of institutional style guidelines to ensure all communications materials reflect the Universitys brand.
12. Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree.

One to three years of experience working in a similar capacity within higher education or another communications/marketing related industry or position.

Possess a valid drivers license and be able to travel overnight.

Strong written communication skills demonstrated by professional experience writing for an organization or having published academic or creative work.

Strong verbal communication skills demonstrated by professional experience presenting to audiences of various sizes.
-
Strong online/social media communication skills demonstrated by having managed content creation for ones own individual and an organizations accounts, website, and/or blog.

Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.

Proficient with Microsoft office and Adobe suite of products.

Ability to represent BSU in a variety of situations and be able to comfortably interact with diverse populations.

Ability to work a flexible schedule according to departmental needs, which may include evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:

Earned Masters degree.

Experience using a constituent relationship management (CRM) platform.

Experience in admission, marketing & communication, or higher education.

Experience teaching or coaching others in communication skills.
-
Advanced marketing training/certificate/education.
-
Direct experience with software and systems that build and execute email campaigns (i.e., Salesforce).
