SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Finance Director, the Human Resources (HR) Administrative Manager will undertake a variety of duties and is responsible for facilitating daily HR functions. The right person for this position will enjoy HR administration and process flows such as researching and staying current on all relevant changes in HR law, policies and practices; implementing compliance programs and HR policies, which include, but are not limited to, unemployment, leave administration, disability programs and I-9/Right to Work compliance; performing routine tasks required to execute human resource programs including but not limited to leaves, tracking employee records and using HR software (ADP). This is a vital position to support the needs of our employees and the growth of our organization by owning administrative processes and responsibilities to keep HR systems, policies, and practices compliant with federal, California, and local laws and company guidelines. Ultimately, this position contributes to the fulfillment of LBDN’s mission to provide high quality early care and education for children of working families.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:
Leaves of Absence and Accommodations Administration:
· Responsible for all aspects of leave of absence management: compliance, communications, documentation, managing leave dates and communicating leave information to employee and appropriate supervisor
· Maintain current understanding and knowledge of rules and regulations for all types of employee leaves
· Assist employees with issues and concerns regarding their leaves of absence and provide consistent, compliant solutions to complex situations
· Lead effective conversations regarding workplace accommodations and work collaboratively with leadership to find appropriate solutions
Employee Support and Policies:
· Facilitate accurate and compliant hiring cycle from job offer to onboarding
· Ensure HR policy implementation is in alignment with Employee Handbook
· Annually facilitate update of Employee Handbook
· Provide expertise in development of employee support programs
· Conduct workplace investigations in adherence to law and regulations
· Responsible for maintaining IIPP
· Maintain and develop policies related to employment practices
· Communicate effectively with employees
· Manage administration of required postings (ex. labor law posters)
Records of Employment Related Data:
· Oversee employee file maintenance and document retention
· Document and standardize HR processes tied to compliance programs
· Ensure compliance with I9/Right to Work documentation
· Review unemployment claims, SDI and EDD paperwork
· Respond to employment verification and document requests
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
