Job Description
A medical front office assistant is responsible for being the first point of contact as patients come into an office. They greet patients, collect their information, answer any questions, schedule appointments, and verify insurance information. Organized and efficient, they also oversee and execute everyday administrative tasks to ensure that the medical office runs smoothly and successfully.
The duties, tasks, and responsibilities commonly performed by this role work are presented below:
- Check in/check out patients and verify insurance eligibility in a cheerful and efficient manner.
- Collect copayments and deductibles.
- Answer a busy multi-line phone and handle patient inquiries accurately.
- Obtain prior authorizations and referrals when appropriate.
- Maintain a busy schedule, recall patients and confirm appointments ahead of time.
- Ophthalmology/optometry experience preferred, not required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Computer literacy and phone skills a plus!
- Must be a detail-oriented, well organized “people person” able to work independently.
- Must have the willingness to learn other aspects of the practice.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
