Royal Paper is seeking to hire a Cost Analyst who can join the team to help execute its growth plans through a data driven and analytical approach.
Position Overview: We are looking for a cost analyst to manage all plant costing functions at its various facilities. This position is the go-to person in cost analysis and primary support for reports to help management make data driven decisions. The Cost Analyst is the acting liaison between finance and operations. To do this job well, the candidate should have a background in manufacturing, be well-versed in data and financial analysis, and have strong attention to detail. This position reports to the Director of Business Analysis and Data Analytics as a member of the Finance Team.
Responsibilities:
Gather and analyze financial data
Determine standard costs and investigate variances with actual costs
Prepare detailed reports, both periodically and ad-hoc
Help management make important decisions based on costs and benefits (e.g. investments, market growth, pricing changes)
Create and manage budgets, and monitor spending
Conduct audits on financial processes and transactions
Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs
Estimate product costs for existing and new products
Forecast and analyze costs of processes, labor and inventory
Ownership of bill of materials and variance to standard reporting
Participate in RFP analysis as needed
Conduct market research to support future business planning Conduct analysis for and participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions including evaluating major agreements, including vendor and customer contracts, as well as acquisition targets
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred, MBA a plus
5+ years’ experience in cost analysis
CPG and/or manufacturing experience is a required
Demonstrated in-depth understanding of business and cost drivers
Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Experience communicating results to business leaders
Collaborative and self-starter mentality
Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with Sage MAS 100 a plus
