Shipton's Big R is a farm/ranch retail company that has been in business 75 years and counting! We are seeking a store receiver at our Billings Heights location.
Job Responsibilities
- Off-load shipments of merchandise from trucks using a forklift.
- Shipments of received merchandise must be accurately counted including verification of boxes, cartons, or pallets are delivered per the bill of lading or UPS/Fedex.
- Inspect shipments for damage and document damage per the correct procedure.
- Packing Slips must be gathered and the corresponding bill of lading documents attached. Notification to the vendor is required for missing packing slips.
- Identify each vendor shipment with the PO number and date received.
- Accurately receive merchandise following a procedure in as timely manner as possible to get the merchandise to the sales floor.
- Responsible for balancing shipment quantities with the packing list following a prescribed procedure.
- Responsible for entering the receipt of merchandise into the computer system following a detailed receiving procedure.
- Responsible for recognizing overages and following the prescribed procedures.
- Move pallets to the designated locations staging area using a forklift or pallet jack.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have forklift experience and be able to be forklift certified according to Shipton’s Big R Policy.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and stand for an extended period of time..
- Must have tolerance to dust, noise, vibration, extreme heat/cold and fumes.
- Must be able to work with and around cleaning supplies.
- Must be able to work with and around the products we carry including feed, seed, and poultry (chickens, ducks, geese and the like) and small animals.
- Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol pre-employment drug test according to our Drug and Alcohol Policy.
- Must have a valid Montana Driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must have the ability to pay attention to detail and have analytical skills to compare quantities and match data.
- Must be able to read, write legibly and interpret and consistently follow standard procedures.
- Must have computer skills with the ability to learn company specific software.
