As part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team, the Clinical Psychologist 2 works closely with team members in the evaluation and treatment planning for individual patients to provide quality, comprehensive and rehabilitative services that maximizes patients’ independence and stability toward community re-integration.
Duties include attending rounds on the unit; participating in treatment plan meetings; conducting a variety of psycho-legal evaluations such as risk, age-related, self-directed violence, malingering and competency related diagnostic assessments; facilitating individual and group therapy sessions.

As part of the Outpatient Competency Evaluation Program, the Clinical Psychologist provides evaluation services to the courts for the purpose of assessing fitness to proceed to trial (IST evaluation) and dangerousness to self, others or property as a result of mental illness, as well as and mental state at the time of the crime (NGRI).
The Program is designed to provide thorough and timely competency/sanity evaluations to the court system to help prevent unnecessary hospital admissions. The Psychologist will work 5 days remotely, except when there is a need to be in-person.
REQUIREMENTS FOR BOTH POSITIONS
EDUCATION: Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychology, a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.), or a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Psychology which should have included at least thirty (30) graduate semester hour credits in a psychology program and completion of a one (1) year clinical internship.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience in the field of clinical psychology in a community mental health center, mental hospital, school for the developmentally disabled or penal, correctional, or juvenile institution, or other setting involving the use of psychodiagnostics, psychotherapy, projective techniques and other clinical methods.
NOTE: Two (2) years of the required experience shall have been earned subsequent to the receipt of the Doctorate.
SPECIAL NOTE: One (1) year of residency (advanced training beyond internship or the extensively supervised clinical experience) is considered equivalent to one (1) year of experience.
