Purchasing/Procurement Manager
Knowledge of plumbing parts; plumbing supply house experience needed
Job Summary
The Purchasing and Warehouse Manager is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods including, but not limited to, materials, tools, machinery, auto fleet, and PPE, while implementing measures to increase the company’s effectiveness and efficiency.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Identify solutions for improvement in the warehouse through process analysis and determine areas of potential improvement in terms of efficiency, costs, and inflow/outflow of materials by developing appropriate solutions
- Plan day-to-day administration and general management of warehouse staff
- Supervise and plan all activities that relate to inventory control and the organization of the warehouse
- Ensure all inventory is appropriately received, stored, and accounted for
- Perform monthly inventory counts and submit appropriate reports to management
- Investigate and report any issues in the warehouse inventory system and execute necessary improvements to enhance business performance
- Evaluate vendor costs and negotiate better pricing and terms
- Issue purchase orders to service technicians as necessary
- Maintain standards of health, safety, hygiene, and security in the warehouse
- Maintain housekeeping of warehouse, office, and site maintenance
- Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability
- Issue and maintain records of tools issued to technicians
- Manage stock control, receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely delivery of goods; shipment loading and transferring; document recording and data entry into system
- Cleanup, maintenance, and repair of tools
- Required Skills/Abilities*
- Proven work experience as a Purchasing/Warehouse Manager or Manager
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Education and Experience*
- Experience with inventory software and databases
- Self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in business strategies
- Intermediate computer skills including
- Purchasing experience
- Warehouse Management or Management experience
- Inventory/Materials Management experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to mobilize equipment and tools up to 50 pounds
