About Para Los Niños
From birth and beyond, Para Los Niños supports and empowers the entire Latino family through early learning and kindergarten readiness, literacy and academic skills development, summer enrichment, and parent leadership and advocacy programs. PLN believes that all Latino children are capable of excellence, and we achieve that goal by building culturally relevant programs upon a foundation of love and respect, supported by a community leadership model that recognizes the talents and skills of each person. We have built deep relationships of trust with hundreds of families because they are a bilingual and bicultural organization that uplifts our community’s language, culture, and heritage. PLN holistically supports the whole family through the lens of Latino language and culture and the immigrant experience, to meet developmental, social, and learning goals.
Position Overview
PLN seeks a qualified bilingual Community Organizer to support the creation of a Parent Leadership Team and coordinate families’ participation in advocacy and social change opportunities. The Community Organizer will develop a small group of dedicated PLN parent leaders to listen deeply to community concerns, gather the support of allies, gain advocacy and organizing skills, and work together to transform school policies and practices.
