A private equity-backed firm owns and operates two rapidly expanding franchise businesses within the health, wellness, and lifestyle industry.
The first is the fastest growing wellness franchise focused on a luxury boutique retail experience with 25 open units and another 100 to be open in the next 9 months. The second is a prominent pet daycare business, with significant scale across the united states.

The Finance and Accounting team’s mission is to support profitable revenue growth by driving financial and accounting accuracy, timeliness and efficiency in the form of business intelligence, forecasting and internal controls. This department is paramount to the success of the holding company and both operating businesses.
This department will operate in a very collaborative manner with all business units and contribute to operational support.
Who is right for this role
You have franchising and retail experience with a deep understanding of brick and mortar 4-wall performance. You are looking for a high impact-large scope opportunity that includes a player-coach approach, as the company is on the verge of hyper scale. You are strong in accounting and can support FP&A efforts, with a desire to be impactful in the operations of the business to ensure end-to-end efficiency.
READ CAREFULLY: As this organization is on the verge of hyper growth, this role is a player-coach opportunity where you will need to be hands on, while building the infrastructure and team to scale. You will collaborate closely with the CEO and COO running point on certain initiatives that go beyond traditional finance and accounting. An example of this is overseeing the procurement initiatives to improve COGS, and overall company profitability. This role will require flexibility to meet the demands of a high-growth environment.
What you will do
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and oversee the timely preparation of monthly & annual financial statements at a Consolidated, business unit and 4-wall level
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reports, providing detailed analysis and explanation for variances in the monthly FP&A and Accounting Packages
- Develop and maintain financial and accounting dashboards and performance metrics
- Meet with business unit leader and C-Suite monthly to review financials
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
Forecasting
- Update and manage the 13-week cash flow & long-range cash flow forecast in partnership with the Sr. Director of Finance
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Oversee annual audits, leading the relationship with auditors
- Evaluate, build and implement controls to ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, etc
Cash Management
- Ensure diligent cash flow management for all entities, while providing strategies to optimize the company’s financial position
- Oversee all accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions
Strategy & Growth:
- Collaborate with the C-Suite to prepare quarterly board decks and reporting
- Participate and co-lead the annual budgeting process
Special Projects:
- Review of Chart of Accounts: Conduct a comprehensive review and optimization of the chart of accounts to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to streamline accounting operations and increase efficiency.
- Integration: Lead the financial integration of newly acquired or franchised units, ensuring seamless alignment with the company’s financial systems and processes.
- System Implementation: Assist in the implementation and optimization of the current ERP system (Netsuite) and other financial software to support scaling operations.
- Cost Reduction Initiatives: Oversee procurement initiatives and other projects aimed at improving COGS and overall company profitability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA certification required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in senior accounting roles (Controller+)
- Experience in franchising, and retail brick and mortar businesses
- Proficient in ERP systems (Netsuite preferred) and data visualization platforms (powerBI, etc)
- Proven ability to lead an accounting and finance team
- Experience with reporting to C-Suite
- Flexibility to work beyond typical office hours to meet the demands of a high-growth environment.
- International accounting is a plus (Canada, and Europe)

Range $225-$300k + profits sharing
