Position Summary:
As a Communications Specialist, you will be the vital first point of contact for all emergency and non-emergency calls. You will coordinate transportation requests from hospitals, nursing facilities, outpatient offices, and private residences. Your role is crucial in ensuring our services run smoothly and efficiently, even in challenging situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- First Point of Contact: Answer and document emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and compassion.
- Coordination & Dispatch: Use our software to assign trips to vehicles based on scheduled crew members, ensuring timely and efficient responses.
- Communication: Operate a multi-line telephone console system, phone, and computer to direct field units and relay critical information.
- Organization: Maintain and update call logs, call records, and other necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
- Problem-Solving: Rearrange preassigned calls in case of vehicular breakdowns, traffic issues, or ASAP requests.
- Team Support: Work closely with other departments and field units to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.

What We’re Looking For:
- Effective Communicator: Ability to speak clearly and concisely, and communicate effectively/accurately.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills and the ability to recall details from numerous informational resources.
- Calm Under Pressure: Remain calm and effective while handling multiple tasks and prioritizing the most important.
- Team Player: Maintain a positive attitude and work effectively within a team-based management structure.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc, and proven experience in data entry. Ability to work well under pressure and multitask.
