Warehouse Manager
Position Summary:
The warehouse manager is responsible for developing, planning, guiding, and controlling the
activities associated with the storage and flow of material through Operations. This will involve
managing the Materials Handling Team(s) in all aspects to ensure complete customer
satisfaction in terms of the timely receipt, storage, and distribution of materials. Developing
solutions to a variety of complex problems providing leadership to subordinates in achieving
organizational business objectives and individual deliverables according to company policies
and guidelines. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and
outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse
inventory current.
- Ensures all customer KPI’s and metrics for warehouse activities are met.
- Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Prepares work order for
repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
- Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with
activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
- Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
- Plans, organizes, and controls for all Warehouse operations.
- Establishes development plans to optimize skills sets through cross-training.
- Ensures that workplace’s health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility
for the security of the building and stock.
- Implements cost reduction principle in all aspects of warehouse transactions and
activities.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Education/ Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain or related subject.
- 5+ years of Management experience in a warehouse;
- Experience working in a repair, manufacturing or distribution environment is required.
- Experience meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external
customers; and working in problem and change management environments.
- Previous background of managing a customer services organization is preferable, with
sound knowledge.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
