Provide the full range of Head Start comprehensive services to families of infants and toddlers enrolled in the home-based option by establishing mutually respectful partnerships with Early Head Start families in order to promote their participation in the program and their children’s education, support access to available services and resources and assist families to work towards increased self-sufficiency.
This is a full time 40hours/52 week position.
Position Responsibilities:
Conduct weekly home visits to families of infants and toddlers enrolled in the Early Head Start home-based option. In collaboration with an Early Intervention Developmental Educator, work with families to plan and facilitate weekly group meetings that provide socialization and parent education experiences.
Collaborate with families to plan, prepare and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children that support their approaches to learning, Social and Emotional Development, Language and Literacy, Cognition (mathematics development and scientific reasoning) and Perceptual Motor, and Physical Development.
Establish mutually respectful partnerships with families and develop written Family Partnership Agreements that support families’ efforts to reach their goals; ensure that all necessary follow‑up and referrals take place and that families in crisis are referred for needed services.
Professionally represent the agency within the community and act as an advocate for Head Start families. Establish a liaison between Early Intervention/community agencies and Head Start.
Candidate Qualification:
Minimum of a home based CDA credential or comparable credential or equivalent coursework as part of an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2 years’ work experience in related field.
Demonstrated competency to plan and implement home-based learning experiences that ensure effective implementation of the home visiting curriculum and promote children’s programs.
Ability to work well with diverse families and service agencies in the community.
Ability to independently travel to all program sites/meeting locations. Mass. Driver’s license preferred.
