Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a crucial role in performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials and specialized equipment. Your expertise will contribute to accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans for our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients for imaging procedures
- Operate gamma cameras, PET scanners, and other nuclear medicine equipment
- Position patients and ensure their comfort during imaging procedures
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any adverse reactions
- Capture high-quality images of the targeted areas for diagnostic evaluation
- Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to interpret images and provide accurate reports
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Follow strict safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure risks
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- In-depth knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in performing various nuclear medicine procedures, including PET scans, mammography, and X-rays
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain sterile environments during procedures
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot nuclear medicine equipment effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Knowledge of sonography techniques is a plus
Requirements:
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or Registered Technologist (RT) certification in Nuclear Medicine
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field preferred
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Prior experience working in an emergency room or similar fast-paced environment is desirable
