Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team at our busy automotive dealership. As a Service Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service, from their initial consultation to the completion of their vehicle's maintenance or repairs. Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers promptly and engaging with them to understand their needs and preferences.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and provide detailed reports outlining the recommended maintenance or repairs needed to keep the vehicle in top condition.
- Offer and negotiate the sale of services and products to customers, utilizing your knowledge of the vehicle and the dealership's inventory to make informed recommendations.
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure that the work is completed efficiently and effectively.
- Manage the service department's inventory, including ordering parts and supplies as needed.
- Utilize advanced automotive diagnostics to identify and diagnose complex vehicle issues.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of all customer interactions and service work completed.
- Transcribe service orders and communicate with customers to ensure that their needs are met.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments, attending training sessions and workshops as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized service department, adhering to all safety protocols and standards.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in a service advisor or sales role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive sales and service, including oil change procedures and the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
- Proven experience in service writing, with the ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, service technicians, and other team members.
- Mechanical knowledge and the ability to use automotive diagnostic tools.
- Ability to transmit and receive information effectively using computer software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in automotive technology or a related field preferred.
- Certification in automotive service or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
