Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Monitor patient’s medical and psychiatric condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care
- Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate with MD/NP
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
- Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and function calmly in situations, which require a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.
- Perform routine procedures (vital signs, accu checks, assess pain, administering injections etc.) and document in patients’ charts
- Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders
- Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, PPE etc.)
- Provide prompt, efficient, and responsive service.
- Understand and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information. · Implementing evidence-based practices
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Supervise and/or train LPNs, PCTs or CNAs
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted Registered License in Illinois
- Experience in Mental Health, Eating Disorder and/or Substance use preferred
- Proficiency in applying compliance standards, procedures and techniques is required with patient care.
- Understand and remain compliant with HIPAA regulations
- Understand and abide by SUPR (DASA) requirements as it relates to patient care regarding substance use
- Strong professional attitude and ability to work with and communicate effectively with all staff.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques used in the care and treatment of psychiatric patients.
