Portage Path Behavioral Health (PPBH) is a nonprofit community mental health center that guides people on the path to recovery from mental illness and related substance use issues, empowering them to rebuild their lives and restore hope.

The primary purpose of the Director of Development is to plan and implement fundraising and philanthropic income for PPBH. The Director of Development will build relationships with individuals and organizations to secure philanthropic support. This position will work with the President/CEO, Board of Directors, Executive Team and Marketing Department to create a development plan, coordinate the execution of this plan including: an annual giving program, special events coordination, donor recognition and stewardship, planned giving initiatives, overall management of the fund development systems and grant writing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive Development and Fundraising program at PPBH
- Establish fundraising goals and assist with the creation of a budget for development
- Collaborate with the Presient/CEO, Board of Directors and Marketing Department to develop fundraising and giving strategies, effective donor communication, goals and marketing materials.
- Works closely with the President/CEO to establish and maintain community and donor relationships, sponsors and supporters and engage prospective donors
- Implement and manages an effective donor stewardship program
- Represents PPBH in the community by attending fundraisers, events and participating at community meetings
- Maintains accurate donor records and generates donor reports and analysis
- Attends, participates and provides support to Board Committees as needed
- Assists with writing of donor and grant proposals
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, Business or Related Field
- Five (5) Years’ Experience in Fundraising/Development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of non-profit fundraising, development, philanthropy and community engagement
- Knowledge of campaign, event and program planning
- Knowledge of stewardship, annual and planned giving, gift and donor strategies
- Ability to build and manage volunteer program
