JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Health Educator/Teen Program Coordinator
STATUS/CLASSIFICATION: Full Time/Exempt
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general supervision and direction of the Senior Director of
Education, conducts educational programming in sexual and reproductive health care and other related subject matters and manages the peer educators in the
Teen LINKS program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Implements sexuality education programs in assigned schools.
2. Develop and research new materials for program implementation.
3. Prepare/outline materials for and set up lesson plans to implement for sexuality and other related education sessions.
4. Recruit, train and coordinate the activities of the Teen LINKS program and students.
5. Conduct individual or group teen sessions on the issues of human sexuality and other related topics.
6. Provide resource information and materials about PPMNJ services to the community and share community resources with PPMNJ staff. This includes community outreach.
7. Develop a working knowledge of and utilize department resources.
8. Submit monthly reports, schedules and other job related assignments in a timely manner.
9. Ensure that presentations are delivered in a culturally sensitive manner. Be familiar with the backgrounds of the groups, i.e., hard to reach/special needs.
10. Maintain open, objective, non-judgmental attitude and ensures group confidentiality.
11. Attend at least two trainings annually to be updated on new health information and practices.
12. Identify problems and needs of the target population, i.e., parents, teens and pre-teens.
13. Review program goals and objectives quarterly.
14. Develop, curate and monitor social media platforms to promote education department
15. Performs other related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s degree in health education, public health administration, human services or closely related field with certification in sex education preferred.
2. One year of experience required in health education, sexuality, and/or family life.
3. Skills in public speaking, and experience and sensitivity in working with culturally diverse communities needed. Bilingual a plus.
4. Must have a valid N.J. Drivers License
