The Assistant Director of Carriage House is responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the Center. Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the organization, the Assistant Director ensures the Center’s compliance with all administrative aspects related to licensing regulations, accreditation and certification processes, personnel files, teacher professional development, human resource functions and Center communications.

Requirements:
· Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or related degrees are preferred.
· Three plus years of administrative and supervisory experience in a childcare or school setting
· Act 33/34, FBI and NSOR clearances and physical/TB test
· Excellent computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Internet, and various software programs
Responsibilities:
Ensures administrative compliance related to annual licensing, Keystone STARS, and USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program. Maintains records and files necessary for required reports.
Responsible for maintaining appropriate and accurate employee files required by Office of Child Development and Learning. Works closely with the Office Administrative Assistant in processing all new employee paperwork and maintains required documents such as bi-annual health appraisals, employee reviews, etc.
Works closely with the Executive Director and Program Director to ensure NAEYC accreditation is maintained.
In partnership with the Program Director coordinates the development of appropriate in-service training programs for staff and required trainings such as first aid, fire safety, etc. Identifies external resources to enhance staff skills and ensure participation where applicable. Manages applicable paperwork related to staff professional development records and professional development plans.
In partnership with the Program Director, is responsible for administration of early childhood education programs by providing support and guidance to teaching staff and families.
Attracts, recruits and retains student workers from surrounding universities to support classrooms and teaching teams. Manages weekly staff scheduling and time-off requests.
Provides oversight and supervision for all kitchen-related functions and staff.
In partnership with the Executive Director manages all responsibilities related to the human resource functions of the center such as employee benefits, FMLA, leave of absence and payroll.
Acts as a liaison between the program/teachers and the Parent Teacher Organization.
In partnership with the Executive Director manages all responsibilities related to Center fundraising events, annual fund and grants/awards.
Responsible for office coverage as needed and will be required to cover for teacher absences or short-staffed rooms.
Provides support in the annual and summer enrollment process such as facilitating the entrance of new families and children into the Center, giving tours, etc.
Responsible for all aspects of program compliance, quality, and safety.
Develops, manages, and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to ensure balanced operation and submits reports on current operations.
