JOB SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant has full authority to operate this position in accordance with Company policy and as directed by the Manager, Accounting. This position is responsible for maintenance, review, analysis, and the accurate reporting of Blistex Inc.’s financial results. He/she is responsible for moderately complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and completing, auditing, tracking, and reporting payroll and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
- Financial Data Management
- Maintain the general ledger, post journal entries, and ensure that financial transactions are recorded accurately.
- Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts, bank accounts, cash disbursement accounts, payroll, and other financial accounts.
- Maintain the fixed asset register including recording the additions, disposals and monthly depreciation entries.
- Manage the month end closing process, including publishing the month end close schedule and managing the JE tracking tool.
- Generate financial reports for management review, providing insights and analysis as needed.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
- Assist in the budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis.
- Treasury
- Daily accounting for all treasury activity, including bank reconciliations and investment reporting.
- Monitor and manage cash position, prepare and execute cash forecasting and liquidity analysis.
- Process domestic and international wire transfers.
- Payroll
- Calculate and process employee wages, salaries, bonuses, and commissions accurately and on time.
- Review timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant documents to ensure completeness and accuracy of payroll data.
- Assist in preparing year-end tax documents, such as W-2 forms, and distribute to employees.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and provide assistance as needed.
- Manage and maintain timeclocks
- Audit Support
- Collaborate with auditors during annual financial audits, providing documentation and explanations as required.
- Ensure compliance with audit procedures and assist in implementing audit recommendations.
- Assist in internal audit activities by providing necessary documentation, conducting audit tests, and ensuring compliance with internal audit standards and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and calculation of yearly R&D Tax Credit reports.
- Assure Fixed Asset physical control and prepare entries related to fixed assets.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing changes to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and provide support as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Accounting Manager, Controller, and/or Vice President, Finance.
- Performs other financial analysis/review functions, as necessary.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- A 4-year college degree in Accounting or Finance or its equivalent in training and experience is required.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Intermediate/Advanced Excel experience.
- CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.
- Effective interpersonal skills are required to interact with various levels of internal and external customers.
- A broad understanding of financial report systems and a solid understanding of complex accounting and financial issues.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines on a multitude of concurrent tasks.
- Ability to prepare detailed and accurate documentation.
- Good math aptitude and strong analytical skills.
- Good organizational ability.
- Willingness to accept other duties as assigned.
- Must possess the ability to get along with others, function as a team player, accept constructive criticism from Supervisor/Manager, and comply with Company policies.

- This position requires the individual to stand or walk up to 33% of the time. This position requires the individual to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel 66% to 100% of the time. This position requires the individual to reach with hands and arms 33% to 66% of the time.
