Job Summary:
Children’s Day Treatment Programs serve emotionally vulnerable youth ages 6-21, who are challenged by psychiatric and trauma related issues. The Day Treatment Programs provide intensive therapeutic and educational services within a school based special education program. They work in partnership with youth and families, to manage mental health symptoms and strengthen interpersonal relationships, while helping them externally utilize community support systems.
Clinicians work as part of a treatment team to ensure that youth and families drive the focus of their treatment and are full-time partners in their own healing and recovery. The treatment team supports youth and families in developing the skills they require to keep safe from abuse, neglect and maltreatment, and to foster and strengthen connection to their home and communities. Our team assesses the individual psychiatric needs of youth, families within a culturally sensitive framework. Youth and families have direct input into their treatment as well as program performance and development. We utilize evidence-based clinical interventions, to support youth and family in their healing and recovery.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide trauma-informed individual, group, and family therapy to assigned caseload
- Conduct risk assessment and crisis response consistent with treatment goals and as needed
- Provide psychoeducation and strengthen skills of parents and/or caregivers in supporting the behavioral health needs of the youth
- Create and revise treatment plans describing the child/youth’s condition and services needed for the current episode of care, detailing the scope/practices to be provided, expected outcome, and expected frequency and duration of the treatment.
- Be an active, solution-focused and collaborative member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team
- Utilize assessments to inform clinical practice and treatment planning
- Initiate and maintain contact with collateral service providers throughout admission and post-discharge
- Participate in program development through attendance at meetings and committees
- Document treatment progress utilizing the agency’s electronic health record consistent with agency and Office of Mental Health regulations
- Conduct home visits to child/ youth’s family as needed and during school holidays and breaks

Previous Experience/ Core Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred
- Literacy in Microsoft office, internet explorer
- Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Valid Driver’s License
Required Certification/Licensing:
- NYS Licensed in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, when under the supervision of licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), licensed psychologists, or psychiatrists
- Active NPI #
- LCSWs require Medicaid Billing number
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive movement of hands and fingers (typing/and/or writing); visual acuity to view documents on a computer screen for long periods of time
- Ability to frequently communicate with members/employees who have inquiries about available services. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Ability to travel in Westchester

Pay: $56,082.08 - $63,828.82 per year
