Student Support Services / Occupational Therapist
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Valid Michigan Occupational Therapy license and NBCOT certification
Experience in providing occupational therapy services in a public school setting is preferred
Experience working with students with autism and physical health impairments
Experience with assistive technology process and intervention is preferred but not necessary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct services in the classroom and pull-out
Provide evaluative services as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Provide training for teachers, teacher assistants, and other staff members
Provide services in more than one school site
Data collection and progress monitoring
Attend and participate in team meetings
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Use appropriate language and accompanying techniques with children/adolescents on individual basis as well as in groups. Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, colleagues and parents; skill in oral and written communication. Strong documentation skills are beneficial. Knowledge of the Individualized Education Program process is preferred but not necessary. Candidate must be highly motivated and organized. Must be a team player!
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $50.00 - $52.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
