Our Architectural/Engineering Firm primarily serves the Semiconductor industry locally in the Chandler Arizona area, though we do work across the valley and in Rio Rancho New Mexico too. Our projects are related to equipment installation and building modifications with industrial and commercial applications. We offer services in many disciplines of design including architectural, structural, mechanical, process piping, chemical, electrical, I&C and telecom.
The candidate who is hired would provide Engineering services related to various phases of design projects including: development of preliminary designs, complete design packages, calculations, QAQC, and field inspections / observations. This position is 85% desk and 15% field work in industrial environment.
This is a full-time, long-term position. Our primary work sites are both in Chandler Arizona and the Electrical Designer position will be based in an office at one of these two locations. Occasional travel between the two sites while on company time is required.
The successful candidate will be a part of an electrical team that is a recognized national center of excellence for mission critical and laboratory facilities that also provides design support for a wide variety of project types and sizes throughout the United States while also focused on growing a local team of designers to support local, regional, and national clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists in developing electrical documents using architectural background layouts and system performance requirements defined by the project team including the architect, engineer, and project manager.

Assists in pre-design project activities, such as site assessment, site plan review, and verification of as built conditions.

Assists project team to find optimum system sizing, routing, materials, and space management for equipment and electrical distribution systems.

Assists senior staff with services during construction, including responding to RFIs, shop drawing and submittal review, and as built drawings.

Coordinates with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering/ internal and external)

Assists in developing projects in compliance with engineering codes, standards, principles, relevant specifications, and contractual requirements.

Assists in the production of construction documents under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and coordinate with other disciplines.

Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

Mentor interns and junior members of project teams

Assists in development of construction drawings, specifications, details, schedules, and diagrams for electrical and lighting systems.

Assists in performing quality control reviews of work developed by others.

Design drawings based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers;

Develop Electrical construction documentation under supervision of assigned engineering, design, and BIM staff utilizing primarily Revit;

Create detailed field installation drawings and fabrication drawings;

Work from both customer and firm drawings;

Perform file management functions such as posting models, downloading model updates, and managing links;

Provide technical support for existing projects and field service;

Attend coordination meetings, communicate with other trades, and create/extract reports as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficient in the use Autodesk Building Systems Software

Possess at least 3+ years of experience in electrical design on commercial building projects; warehouse experience preferred.

Have advanced proficiency in technical knowledge, the A&E industry, building electrical and energy codes, and standards relating to a broad range of retail practice, project, or program types.

Proficient in Revit, AGI 32, AutoCAD (required)

Possess excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills.

Can meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design.
