General Overview: The Director of BBB Foundation is responsible for the function of the 501(c)3 of Better Business Bureau of Southeast Texas, Inc.
Unique Contributions: Increase visibility and awareness of the BBB Foundation by programming, events and community engagement throughout BBB Southeast Texas service area.
Contributions:
- Oversee and facilitate all aspects of the annual Torch Awards for Excellence Program.
- Oversee and facilitate all aspects of the Spark Leadership Summit.
- Oversee and facilitate all aspects of the Professional Women’s Conference.
- Oversee and facilitate all aspects of the Brunch & Learn Series.
- Oversee and facilitate the administration of scholarship and grant funding.
- Fundraising and solicitation of sponsorships to help support all Foundation efforts and programming.
- Recruit, coordinate and communicate with judging committee serving in Education Foundation Projects.
- Submit press releases about BBB Foundation to inform the public of successes and ways to become involved with the Foundation.
- Seek opportunities for the BBB Foundation to be involved in the community to foster cohesion and collaboration.
- Offer and implement ethics training workshops to local businesses.
- In conjunction with BBB President/CEO, BBB Foundation Board of Trustees, design, develop and facilitate new programs that represent the vision of BBB and the Foundation.
Responsibilities:
- Attend workshops, speaking engagements, networking events and education-related programs that can potentially impact the Foundation and its mission.
- Communicate with schools & educators, business leaders, sponsors and community leaders to help further the Foundation mission.
- Create flyers, informational documents, brochures, mass emails and press releases for the purpose of informing the general public and specific groups.
- Maintain records indicating the progress of Foundation Programs.
- Compile an Annual Charity Report
- Maintain detailed records of communication with third parties.
- Collaborate with BBB team members to achieve both Foundation and general BBB goals.
- Meet regularly with BBB President/CEO to discuss progress, ideas and goals.
Skills and Aptitude:
- College degree (preferred) in education or business-related field.
- Ability to navigate the Internet and use the World Wide Web for extensive research.
- Knowledge of and ability to use software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Apple Mail.
- Highly motivated.
- Autonomous worker.
- Very strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to network in large and small groups.
- Proficient in public speaking.
- Ability to be flexible, multitask, have good phone etiquette and exemplary manners.
- Strong writing skills: ability to create informational materials, press releases, potential grant writing, letters to educators and important business and community leaders.
