Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and creating high-quality sushi dishes for our customers. Your expertise in sushi preparation and presentation will contribute to the overall dining experience of our guests.
Duties:
- Prepare a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and handroll using fresh ingredients
- Ensure the quality and freshness of all sushi items
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Maintain inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate orders and ensure timely service
- Create visually appealing presentations of sushi dishes
- Assist with menu planning and development of new sushi recipes
- Train and mentor junior sushi chefs
Experience:
- At least 3 years experience as a Sushi Chef in a restaurant or similar food service setting
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine
- Proficient in using knives and other sushi preparation tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Skills:
- Experience working in a restaurant or culinary environment
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food allergies
- Catering experience is a plus
- Passion for Japanese cuisine and culture
- Strong knife skills
