Position Summary:
Assists in developing the organization’s health and safety programs: conducts periodic on-site facility audits to verify compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. Investigates the root causes of accidents and prepares reports with the findings and corrective actions. Prepares and administers the safety training and incentive programs. Maintains workers compensation records.
Assures compliance and maintains high level of confidentiality and has a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and municipal regulations as they relate to human resources.
Leads safety meetings and acts as a resource for the group: supports YSK and Associates to minimize hazardous conditions and risks resulting from human error, equipment and operations within a tier one automotive supplier machining manufacturing facility.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Commitment to YSK objectives regarding safety, quality, cost, delivery and management according to the department business plan
· Strict adherence to the Environmental, Health and Safety guidelines and policies
· Prepare annual Capital and EHS budgets and apply money allocated to complete projects
· Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
· Track, manage and report on Bureau of Worker’s Compensation Claims including lost time injuries/illnesses and YSK accidents/incidents
· Review injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follow-up as necessary
· Assist EMS Management Representative with ISO Environmental Management System implementation, compliance, conformance, maintenance, training, communication and continuous improvement.
· Track, manage and report on YSK Environmental Incidents and Spills
· First responder for safety, environmental and health concerns
· Transport associates to hospital for minor injuries or drug tests. Follow-up, track and report.
· Work closely with all levels of company personnel (executives and production associates)
· Provide support and information to production and management personnel as required
· Provide orientation safety training
· Identify company safety training needs and develop and coordinate safety-training programs
· Maintain safety library (videos, reference manuals, etc.)
· Promote safety and health awareness through specific training programs (LOTO, Forklift safety, shift meetings, etc.)
· Participate in new product/process reviews to support operation safety and ergonomics
· Implement controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards
· Participate in the Safety Committee
· Assist in the implementation of Hazard Communication and recording thereof and Federal and State safety and required documents
· Manage the Global Harmony System (MSDS/GHS)
· Review operations and provide input for safety and health considerations to reduce risks
· Assist in disaster recovery testing
· Periodically audit practices and records to ensure compliance of safety and health regulations
· Manage Facility Insurance, conformance, concerns and requirements
· Manage YSK Security and Security Contract Company
· Assist with Green House Gases control project
· Attend shift meetings and others applicable to the position
· Perform all tasks as needed

· Working knowledge of Federal and State regulations with a strong knowledge is OSHA and EPA regulations
· Knowledge of BWC policy and procedures
· Performs all tasks as needed
Education and work experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
· The equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
· Industry certifications
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
