Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or a related field required with 2 or more years of experience. Previous experience in planning and delivering fitness programs. Strong knowledge of health and wellness principles and practices. Experience working with diverse populations and age groups. Strong understanding of confidentiality and privacy guidelines in relation to participant information. Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to respond effectively in emergencies. Physical fitness and endurance to demonstrate exercises and lead fitness classes.
Excellent knowledge of fitness principles, exercise physiology, and nutrition. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively motivate and instruct individuals and groups. Ability to design and implement safe and effective exercise programs tailored to individual’s needs and fitness levels. Proficiency in a variety of fitness modalities, such as cardio exercises, strength training, flexibility training, and mind-body practices. Understanding of injury prevention and proper form to ensure participant safety. Organization and time management skills to efficiently plan and coordinate fitness classes, workshops, and events. Ability to adapt and modify fitness programs based on individual limitations and health conditions. Leadership and team-building skills to effectively supervise fitness instructors and assistants. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce them. Proficiency in using fitness tracking software and tools.
