The Lincoln Housing Authority is growing and is seeking a dedicated, client-focused professional who has previous leasing experience for the full-time position of Leasing Agent. Essential Job Functions
- Shows units to applicants and provides move-in instructions to tenants, inspect the unit and coordinates signing of the leasing documents.
- Manages waiting lists for LHA properties. Responsible for maintaining an adequate pool of applicants to meet LHA vacancy rate and vacant turnaround standards.
- Accepts applications from individuals wanting to live in LHA properties. Screens applicants in accordance with LHA screening policies.
- Responsible for providing excellent customer service and resident relations. Investigates and resolves tenant complaints.
- Updates leases to reflect household changes. Updates lease forms as required to meet LHA needs and legal requirements.
- Performs site management functions.
- Maintains various records, including Maintenance/Rent-up time of vacant units, rent structures, waiting lists, LHA computer databases, census statistics. Advises management as required. Reports involve considerable judgment and independent action.
- Records defects noted during the move-in inspection. Coordinates repairs with the Maintenance Department.
- Updates utility companies on current tenants.
- Updates, maintains and distributes the Tenant Handbook of Information.
- Determines and collects the first month’s rent and deposit. Issues keys to new tenants.
- Enforces LHA policies and requirements of lease.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience in showing and leasing living units, resident relations, and customer service.
- Highly organized to with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks within a specified time frame.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to use proper grammar and language skills.
- Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, clients and the general public.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Desire to work within a culturally diverse work environment.
- Knowledge of HUD subsidized and tax credit units, desirable.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
- Valid Nebraska driver's license and dependable automobile.

- Starting pay is $23.15/hour.
