Contract Scope:
GWFS is working with federal, state, and local officials to welcome asylum seekers and ensure that newly arriving individuals and families are treated with dignity, respect, and safety. Services may include but are not limited to, shelter, food, medical care, social services, case management, transportation, and other necessary services. management operation with emergency logistic support services to set up shelter, food housing, sanitary services, security, etc.
Contract Summary:

POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Job Summary:
The Admin Support Specialist provides administrative and logistical support for the Shelter.
The Admin Support Specialist offers support to the residents of a shelter by helping them work towards their case plan goals and motivating residents to maintain their active daily living routine. A general summary of responsibilities includes providing a safe, clean environment, supporting, and assisting residents residing in the shelter and documenting any safety/security.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Some of your duties may include:
- Receive and orient new resident arrivals and provide them with a welcome brief.
- Maintains oversight of shelter residents and their living quarters.
- Ability to provide resource information for residents and their families.
- Support and assist residents with their shelter needs as they arise (ex. questions, concerns, hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies, bedding, food and more).
- Maintain positive, supportive, and respectful resident relations.
- Follow and enforce shelter guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with other staff members.
- Responsible for record keeping, resource coordination, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with government regulations.
- Attend meetings, compile, and submit required reports, and other tasks as assigned.
- Interface with Government agencies.
- Assist HR with personnel issues as needed.
- Assists with daily administrative and logistical taskings.
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
- Trilingual - SPANISH + HAITIAN CREOLE + ENGLISH
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to be compassionate and firm towards shelter residents.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents and other staff members.
- Ability to use sound judgement and perform job duties with minimal supervision.
- Ability to navigate Microsoft Office products, specifically, Outlook email, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail to procedures, processes, and policies.
- Must be able to work a 12-hour shift during the week including weekends, holidays, and overnights.
Preferred Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
- Preferred s experience working in a shelter environment.
Work Environment:
Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Physical Requirements:
Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach during shifts. Employees may also be required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
