Hannah Pet Hospital is looking to employ full-time Pet Nurses to help keep our state-of-the-art veterinary hospitals operating smoothly. Prior experience is required, this is an excellent way to get your foot in the door of a growing ER practice and lay the foundation for a fulfilling career!
- Starting at $19/hr increasing up to $21/hr depending on experience level.
- If working night shift, then an additional shift differential of $3/hr.
- Location: 10164 SW Washington Sqaure Rd B3, Tigard, OR 97223.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform physical exams, nail trims, ear cleaning, vaccinations, diagnostics, and complete in room appointments.
- Triage emergency patients, set up hospitalization plans with direct orders from attending DVM, monitor patients under 24/7 care.
- Collect samples, prepare, and read routine in-house laboratory tests (urinalysis, fecal floats, ear cytology, PCV, blood smear, CBC, chemistry).
- Assist preparing surgical patients and writing discharge instructions.
- Monitoring anesthesia, perform dentals, and dental extractions.
- Help train pet nurse aides, lead a team, and help delegate tasks to paraprofessional.
- Stock treatment rooms, exam rooms, and surgical suite with necessary medical supplies.
- Clean treatment room, exam rooms, surgical suite, and sterilize instruments.
- Use proper restraint techniques to hold or position pets during examination, treatment, and inoculation.
- Ensure the comfort and cleanliness of in-house pets by walking, exercising, bathing, feeding, and cleaning kennels.
- Ensure cleanliness of the Hospital - including but not limited to cleaning kennels/runs, laundry, dishes, sweeping, mopping, trash removal.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 1 year of experience as a veterinary technician; certification not required.
- Need to be able to triage patients based on history, collect samples, and perform diagnostics.
- Anesthesia monitoring required.
- Eagerness to help people and their pets.

Essential Physical Abilities
- Ability to lift a 40 lb. dog onto an exam table.
- Routine exposure to biological hazards, medication/controlled substances, anesthesia and radiation (after Radiation Certification is obtained – also paid for and provided by Hannah!).
