We are a high-volume Cardiology practice seeking a friendly and professional Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) to join our team as the front desk representative. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a positive experience for all patients, visitors, and staff members who enter our facility. As the first point of contact, you will provide exceptional customer service, handle inquiries, schedule appointments, and perform various administrative tasks. Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, visitors, and staff members with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Schedule and confirm appointments for patients using the appointment management system.
- Collect and verify patient information, including personal and insurance details.
- Maintain patient records accurately and ensure all necessary forms are completed.
- Direct patients to the appropriate departments or healthcare professionals.
- Assist with insurance verification and claim processing.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and billing inquiries.
- Ensure the waiting area is clean, organized, and comfortable for patients.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow and address any urgent matters.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
- Assist in maintaining office supplies and inventory.
- Participate in training programs and stay up to date with industry standards and practices.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems, eClinicalWorks/ECW is preferred.
- Experience with cardiology would be great, but is not required.
- Proven experience as a front desk representative, preferably in a medical. One year required, two years preferred.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with efficiency and accuracy.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Professional appearance and a friendly demeanor.
- Fluent in English. Second language (such as Spanish, Russian, Armenian, or Farsi) is desirable.
