Instrumentation and controls technician

Job Function:
The primary responsibilities of this position include diagnostics, programming, calibration, tuning, repairs, and inspections of plant packaging and process instrumentation, plant Distributed Control System, programmable controllers, and HMIs.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with safety rules and regulations. Report injury/illness and/or environmental incidents.
- Conduct troubleshooting, inspection and repair of plant packaging and process instrumentation, plant Distributed Control System, programmable controllers and HMIs.
- Perform general electrical work such as troubleshooting power and building wiring.
- Document all work effectively.
- Respond to scheduled PM efforts through interfacing with the plant’s CMMS.
Education/Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of experience with process and packaging equipment and other plant electrical control systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with plant computer networks.
- Experience programming and designing plant control and interface systems.
- Proficient in PLC, DCS, electrical (24VDC to 480VAC) repair and troubleshooting
- Ability to maintain accurate records and data, have a working knowledge of NFPA 70E.
- Possess good math skills, written and verbal communication skills.
- Formal technical education preferred.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred.
