Position Overview:
The Internal Audit Quality Assurance Underwriter is responsible for conducting daily audits of post decisioned and denied/withdrawn loan files, which includes a full file underwrite for areas of credit report, appraisal, occupancy, red flags, underwriting and decision logic, underwriting conditions/stipulations, and compliance. The Internal Audit Quality Assurance Underwriter is responsible for testing that the Quality Control department properly validated the loan underwriting and is in compliance with all agency and end investor loan guidelines, regulatory requirements, and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:

Perform quality assurance audits of an assigned sample of loan files that have been reviewed by the CCM Quality Control department.

Ensure loan files are in compliance with all agency loan guidelines, regulatory requirements, internal policies and procedures, meet Agency quality control requirements, and the QC review was conducted in accordance with CCM QC Plan.

Complete loan audit results electronically, containing feedback of each loan review.

Collaborate with Quality Control management to identify deficiencies in Quality Control reviews, obtaining a remedial plan for corrective action, and identifying trends to assist with providing any policy guidance or training as needed.

Assist Internal Audit Management with other projects, as assigned.

Attend relevant loan underwriting, credit analysis, or loan program industry trainings.

Prepare a report of monthly findings; create reports with large data sets in Excel or Access.
Qualifications and Skills:
-
A minimum of 5 years’ underwriting, audit, and/or quality control experience in the retail mortgage lending industry.

FHA and VA experience, preferred.

Experience with Encompass and/or ACES, preferred.

Knowledge of HUD/FNMA/FHLMC/VA eligibility guidelines and private investor requirements.

Knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory rules, laws, regulations, underwriting guidelines and statutes relevant to the mortgage industry.

Knowledge of loan processes and procedures.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
