Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Lead Driver/Business Contact at our FedEx Ground terminal. As the lead Driver/Business Contact, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of package pickup, delivery services and filling in for runs when required, while also serving as the primary point of contact between our company and FedEx.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of package pickup and delivery services within the FedEx Ground terminal.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, positive working relationships with all FedEx employees, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of packages, anticipating potential issues and proactively addressing them.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of employees, promoting a positive work environment, and providing guidance and support as needed.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform routine administrative tasks related to fleet maintenance, accounting, compliance, payroll, and other reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Customer Interaction: Interface with customers as needed, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
- Safety and Integrity: Maintain a strong focus on safety and integrity in all aspects of operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
Requirements:
- Must have previous transportation management experience, preferably in a similar role .
- ·Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple.
- Must possess verifiable CDL experience.
- This is not a traditional Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm position. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including willingness to work long hours, days, and weekends as needed.
- Impeccable problem-solving skills and the ability to think ahead and anticipate issues and needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers, FedEx employees, and internal team members.
- Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate a team, and lead by example.
- Reliable follow-up and follow-through on tasks, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
- A positive attitude that inspires others and contributes to a positive work environment.
