All applicants must have independent transportation, a valid driver license, and be able to work the minimum required schedule of 55 hours / week - including one night shift and one weekend double shift.
Position is currently available outside of San Antonio in the Hill Country. Upon hire, training with current General Managers at various stores in San Antonio and with Service Operations Director will be required for 1-3 months before receiving a permanent location as its GM. Pay while in training is $21.63/hr with time-and-a-half overtime.
Reports to: Directors and Owner
Primary responsibility for the oversight of restaurant operations to ensure customer satisfaction and store profitability, including management of staff encompassing Assistant Manager(s), control of food and labor costs, sales results, product production, food safety, cleanliness, cash control, training, ordering commissary, paperwork, and monthly inventory.
Operations
· Manage entire operation of restaurant during scheduled shifts. Strive for operational levels that meet or exceed customer expectations in the areas of quality, service, and atmosphere.
· Work hands-on during shifts in whichever area of store requires assistance – front counter, drive thru, and kitchen.
· Set up and close store during scheduled shifts, to include cash drawer and register beginning and end of day procedures, soft serve machine assembly or disassembly / cleaning, ensuring product stock and rotation, completing paperwork, securing cash properly, ensuring store cleanliness, and adhering to security practices.
· Count and make deposits as required by Company policy.
· Measure and record temperatures of cooked, prepared, and held foods to EcoSure and health department standards.
· Ensure clean work areas, organization, and properly stocked needed items. Move various food, packaging, and cleaning items from other sections of building (or outside building) to all work areas.
· Assists in putting away commissary orders upon arrival, completing receiving log and ensuring proper rotation of product.
Training
· Ensure crew members are trained and fully knowledgeable on all American Dairy Queen and Texas Dairy Queen PRIDE systems and routines, product recipes, food safety practices, and restaurant safety practices.
· Ensure that all PRIDE systems and routines are incorporated into day-to-day operations.
Business Planning
· Understand how to react to issues impacting the restaurant’s profit & loss to optimize sales and profit, such as analyzing food cost and taking corrective action if necessary, maintaining inventory, projecting restaurant demand changes throughout the year and adjusting labor accordingly, and ensuring that cash control/security procedures are followed.
· Recruit and hire qualified crew members.
· Perform and ensure accurate completion of required company paperwork in a timely manner, including daily reports, ten day reports, running timecards, and monthly inventory.
Customer Service
· Ensure that customer service in all areas meets or exceeds company standards.
· Follow standards for the management team in handling customer concerns.
· Ensure that customer complaints are promptly and appropriately addressed to resolve the problem.
· Understand the importance of speed of service and resolve bottlenecks in work flow.
· Build relationships with return customers.
· Accomplish store objectives by hiring, training, coaching, and developing shift leads and crew members to build a highly skilled and productive team.
· Perform thorough training and new hire orientations; clearly communicate job expectations; monitor each employee’s performance and job contributions, provide ongoing and helpful feedback with regard to expectations.
· Be a role model and enforce policies and procedures.
· Prepare hourly employee schedules to meet the staffing requirements for each day part and seasonal demands.
· Maintain a positive working relationship with all restaurant staff to foster and promote a cooperative and pleasant working climate, which will be conducive to maximizing employee morale, productivity, and efficiency.
Health and Safety Standards
· ServSafe® certified or approved equivalent at Manager level, or the ability and willingness to obtain this within 30 days of employment.
· Ensure food safety is the top training priority in store operations.
· Ensure that proper hand washing, product date marking and rotation procedures, and temperature logging are visible and active behaviors.
· Role model and enforce safe food handling practices.
· Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures, complying with EcoSure, local health regulations, and maintaining security systems or routines.
· Understand and train the Assistant Manager and Shift Leaders how to react in the event of an emergency such as a customer accident, workers compensation accident, a robbery, etc.
Store Marketing
· Complete regular promotion material changes, such as removing and replacing POP and Reader Board messages.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Operations Directors and the Owner.

Hours Requirements
· Must be willing to work a minimum of 55 hours per week, primarily day shifts (opening – 5:00pm), including two evening shifts per week – one of which is required to be on the weekend. (Schedules typically reflect working opening shift four days per week, night shift one weekday, and one weekend double shift.)
· Work hours as needed to ensure store coverage during critical hours while the Assistant Manager is out.
Must have ability to:
· Perform under pressure in a high volume restaurant including standing, moving, and responding quickly for long periods of time, up to 14 hours shifts with reasonable breaks.
· Lift up to 40 pounds.
· Work around nuts and other allergens.
· Must have a personal vehicle, valid driver license, and proof of insurance.
· Tolerance to work in and out of different temperature ranges.
Pay Information
· Effective July 01, base salary of $43,888 paid twice monthly. Bonus paid monthly.
· Majority of income is determined by generous food cost, labor, and sales bonuses, with many upwards of $8,000/month.
· Successful manager’s income can be upwards of $100,000 annually.
